i have a maroon clown and want to get him an anemone so he will be happy
i just bought Corallife Power Compact lights for coral and it has:
2 65watt actinic lights and
2 65watt fluorescent lights
is this enough light for an anemone?

If it is the coralife fixture that I have.. it looks like each bulb is double.. but they go into the same prong thing.. which means that the white light is 65 watts and the actnic is also 65 watts.. What size tank do you have? This IMO is not enough light for an anemone.. thats why I upgraded to Metal Halides so I can get a RBTA (red bubble tip anemone)

Trust me that is still poor wattage over a 75 gallon tank. If it were me I'd have 440 watts of say, VHO lighting over it, if you hope to have successful and thriving anemones or corals. Minimum of 360 watts. I'm only giving you my opinion but 230 is very marginal. With what you have now I would be very hesitant to even recommend the two anemones that can survive lower light, like the BTA or Condy.
What anemones does your LFS have under that type of lighting?
