can i get some help on how set up my hospital tank.

ok my fish have ich in a reef so i need do do the qt thing. how do i do it without killing my fish? i have a 10 gal tank 4 small fish and a small emperior(sp) filter that is not in use. the bio wheel is not established anymore. what about cycling? what will i need to do (water changes, filling the tank, etc.)? any help will be great. btw i did a search for the info and didnt find any answers for the questions i had.

As long as the quality of water in your reef tank is good, you can use it to “establish” the hospital tank, along with your existing, unused equipment you mentioned.
Since you do not have an established tank, you will need to work and not allowing the hospital cycle. This means daily clean up of the bottom of the tank and daily water changes.
In a hospital tank, it is best not to place substrate, however, to aid with establishing yours you could use a cup full of your reef sand from the main tank.
I’m assuming you are going to use hyposalinity as treatment.

yes im going to use hypo. i added 2 gal from reef and the rest was new water that was all i could get. im decreasing salinity slowley and i will chang the water every 2 days. dose that sound good?
