Hello everyone, I have a clown question. I currently have a pair of true perculas in my 90 gallon tank and was wondering if I could add a tomato clown? My 2 perc's stay in one corner of the tank and never go anywhere and could care less about my anemone. I think I read that different kinds of clowns may nip or try to kill each other, is that true?

I know it is probley to many fish But I have a True Perc,Cinnamon,Clarkie all in a 28 gallon. They all have there little spot and they stay in it.They all leave each other alone.

Well that is definitely not typical. Most species will not tolerate there being another kind in the tank. Half the time clowns of the same variety will fight.

Are they perhaps very young clowns? If so, get ready for trouble in a year or so. They most likely will fight it out sooner or later.
I would not advise having 2 species of clowns in any tank less than 120 gallons.....and even that can be pushing it with the larger species (maroon, tomato, Clarkii)

The Cinnamon is 1-1/2"
The True Perc and Clarkii are 3/4"
I am not sure of there age but I am going to be looking for them a new home. Thanks for the heads up on what to come from the Clowns

I'm sorry, when I wrote "99% of the time, yes" what I meant to write is no :nervous: That's what I get for posting at work
You'll probably be asking for trouble having having two diff clown species in the same tank.
