can i put any bulb in any fixture?

I wanna do the 14k phoenix bulbs when i get my next fixture )mh)
but i have a question, for example, say i get a coralife 2x150w 36" mh/PC combo...can i take our the HQI bulbs and put in the phoenix 14k's?

as long as the wattage matches (eg: replace 150w with 150w), then you can put any bulb you want in there.

has to be the same wattage, and same type (cant switch between double ended and single ended)
