Can I put the worm on the rock?

My feather duster worm left its' tube and is now laying on the sand. I would like to have it growing out of my live rock. Would putting it on the rock hurt it in any way?

Was it one of those "jumbo" ones you by as a single unattached worm? If so, it's not good that it left its tube. I wouldn't touch it. It might build a new one, but it won't bury into the rock.
