beyond annoying, and a wet dry looks like a sump, full fo bioballs,
why do you want one?? they are ok, for fish only tanks, but i still like a dsb wiht lr much better(and cost is near the same), they provide filtration, shelter and food

well fishhub i dont want one.i already have one. it hasbio balls in it but i heard 6-8 inches of sand in there is better than a dsb. true? i dunno.
i have a sand bed unfiortunately i misjudged Dsb and only have 2.5 inches(90 pounds in 150 gallon)
thinking ofa a way to make up difference cuz adding more sand to tank will dust it for a week again.will that hurt 5 firefish gobies and hermits crabs shrimp?thanks

well if you use ls, it will not cloud, hardly at all, butif you use dry aragonite(and you probably can get southdown in MD), soak it for a several days, not rinse, and use a pvc pipe to get it to the bottom with out alot of dusting, and if it ddoes get cloudy, pause for a day or so, ff are very hardy fish and can take some dust but i would nto push my luck with a lot, and last add only 1/4 inch at a time, wait a week or 2 before continuing,
and also, slowly remove your bio balls(if you are using that wet dry) after removing all of them then, yes a dee sand bed would be more beneficial than the balls in there, and you could also add a couple of small pieces of lr too
