Can I start adding fish again?

I had a problem with water levels that were toxic and killing my fish about 2 1/2 months ago. So I let the tank balance itself out and added fish again(only three, 2 damsels, and one Tang). The Tang developed ick and died and then the ick spread to the two damsels and they died. I waited a week and added two damsels which died in about 3 days. About three weeks has passed by and I just switched earlier this week from CC to Live Sand. All I have right now is 4 snails and an anenome. All look to be doing fine. Is it ok to add fish now and how many should i add? I was just planning on getting some damsels for right now and then if everything works out, adding fish slowly, one at a time. Is this ok, or should I wait a little longer? Not sure what my water levels are, I'm in the process of getting a test kit. The last time I check the water at the LFS it looked good.

I was wanting to get a few Green Chromis so they will school together. Should I get multiple fish or just start with one at a time? Also, will they school in a 29 gal tank or is that too small of a tank?

I would suggest that since your adding fish has killed all the specimens, you should maybe only add one Damsel. But since all of the fish died and Ick is a problem, you might want to start your tank over, or at least treated it first before you put the invertebrates in.

How long has it been since the last fish was removed due to the ick outbreak? I would definitley make sure the water and temp is stable, but if your inverts are o.k and the anenome is in good shape thats a good sign. Test the water and dont put anymore tangs in a 29 gal tank. Overstocking and stress could have contributed greatly to your ich problem and once the beast is unleashed its a pain to put back in the den.

It has been about 5-6 weeks since the ich break out. if I add green chromis one at a time, will they still school? The temp looks to be stable and I was planning on taking a water sample in to the lfs before adding any fish just to be sure that my levels are good.
