on the second one thats not a skeliton its a soft tissue at night it shrinks down a little but when the lights come on in the am it puffs and strectes out like ya see in the picture
my brother bought a established tank and this was one of the corals that came with he gave me a smaller chunk of what ever it is.my chunk is growing the same way as in the picture shown.

My only guess on the second would be some kind of leather coral? Otherwise I am sticking to my BUBBLEGUM....

I am sure one of the vets will chime in with a more definative answer sometime soon. I am just as stumped as both of you. Does it have a particular texture? Could it be a sponge? Also, you are very welcome

i dont think its a sponge at all, its texture well its kinda like bublegum without the stickyness.
it kind of feels like how a mushroom feels i suppose but it doesnt feel that slimey..

I am shocked no vets have came up with an answer about your mystery coral yet

me to! and i was just staring at the piece i have in my tank and looked over it with the magnifying class and still cant figure it out. must feed off light some how dont see any other ways of how it could feed. is it possible that its not a true coral and just some bubblegum pest of some sort? i told my brother to email the previous person that owned the tank that this piece came from but still no word back. just hope some one can tell us something!!

Does it react to touch? Can we confirm that it is photosynthetic?

i also had this same pict in the hitchhiker/id area and cranberry thought it was a leather (Paralemnalia sp.) i searched for that name and didnt find nothing that resembled it but this is what i can tell you about it atleast the piece i have in my tank. in the mornings its shrunk down to a pinkish blob thats what it does when touched as well it looses its peeks to it. through out the day with the lights on it puffs up and gets its "peeks" to it.but i have yet to see any tenicals or polyps of any sorts come out of it. i will attempt to take some pictures of the piece in my tank it looks a little bit different then the one in the picture. so give me about a hour or so and i will see what i can do for more pictures.
