can someone help me id some living things on my live rock

hello
i just got some live rock this weekend and there and there are some things growing on them and i was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what they are . im looking for id on the red plant like thingy and the white slimy blob on one ruck and on the other rock some peachy and white polop type thing. :help:

red i think is some sort of kelp? white thing looks like some of my feather duster tubes i have in my tank now about 1/2 an inch long white,hard calcium based tube? second pic star polyps

I agree that the red algae is a form of kelp but the white stuff might be some kind of sponge. The polyps look like xenia that is not pumping to me. If its star polyps there will be a mat underneath the star polyps. Touch them. If they suck up into small balls then its xenia but if you notice a purple colored mat below them then its star polyps.

I agree with Shoreliner11.
The white stuff is some type of sponge, and in the second pic, it looks to me like a type of xenia. As Shoreliner said, if there's no purple mat underneath, it's not star polyps.

thank you guys the white stuff is spongy but its also slimy as for the polops there were xenia (sp) in the tank but they died in a tank crash this may be the rock that they were living on but im not sure thank you guys again. now do i need the feed the sponge anyhting special?

You could feed the tank DT's phytoplankton which could help. Being as its a hitchhiker it is alreay probably a pretty hardy sponge(if thats what it is). Kinda one of those things that will either do alright or slowly whither away. Thats my experience anyway.
