can someone pls ID this little guy for me?

finaly got a few good pics of the little guy, there are 3 or 4 of them in our tank so far, seems like we find a new one every week, here are a few pics of him climbing the side of tank somehow, anyone know what it is?

no its a clam i think, its not a snail, i know that much, that long thing sticking out seems to be what it uses to get around, but most of the time it stays in cracks in the rock work, so far we have seen 3 of them and they all look the same.

its not a snail, it closes like a clam, is closed all day, and only opens at night, its some kind of clam, just dont know what kind.

There are a couple of different mussels and similar that will come in on LR and wander around....but the odds on finding exactly what it is are pretty low. This is one just to enjoy, IMO.

I agree that it's a snail. It looks like a Strombus maculatus.
Dr. Ron states:
The animal appears to be a spotted conch, Strombus maculatus. These are fine herbivores, totally reef safe, and sometimes reproduce well in reef aquaria.
I have hundreds in my tank.
Here's a few pictures of them. The first picture is the backside.

Hmmm, just doesn't quite seem right to me. Powdertoastman, it has two shells, right? Does it crawl smoothly or kind of limp along? I know I have had little bivalves wandering around my tank and wedging themselves into rocks (mostly ark clams I think). Search for a thread by mikegronholz called "HOLY COW...What is this ?!?!?!?!?!?!" See if it looks similar.

we have never seen it move, only time we saw it on the glass was in the middle of the night, and it was already up there, as shown in the above pics. we turned on our moon lights and it didnt move at all, so we got those pics. its shell is like a mussel it closes up tight. just like the kind you would buy in the store. im SURE its not a snail, unless a snail took over a mussel shell, so far we have seen 3 of these little guys, and they seem to only move around at night, and only open at night too.
