Can someone tell me what is that?

For the past few days I see those little things in my tank. They are on the rock and on the glass. they look like undeveloped star fish (missing a leg or two). they are gray and light green.

Little asterina stars (i might have spelled it wrong).
I've got about 100 in my tank right now -- they're save scavengers

Yup Asterina sp. They multiply by dropping legs and the legs grow a new star. That is why you see some with differing amounts of legs. They will wax and wane with available nutrients. If you get more than you want and they become an eyesore you can siphon them out at water change. You will never get them all nor do you really want to. They are scavengers and will help to keep the tank clean.

Yeah I have about 100 and right now need about a bazillion more as I'm getting my GHA problem handled. YAY hand plucking hair algae every couple of days. I guess it's proof you can't feed your tank phosphates and be lazy for 3 months and get away with it.

I have about 50-60 and if they are a cleaning crew and safe for my reef I am all for that.
