Can this be used for a tank

I can get 2 six inch round by about 53 inches long glass cylinders from my work. I thought it would be cool to stand it up or lay it down for a tank of some kind. I am assuming that doing something salt water would be impossible, so mabye fresh water. Just an idea. Can anything be done with these?

I'd use them as ornamentle, you know either side of the aquarium with colored lights and little bubbles going up.
To be more serious there would be next to no gas exchange in a thing like that. How would you be able to clean the glass? Would you like to be a fish in a 6 inch wide tube?
Maybe if you could hook tanks together with it, so the fish could go from bio type to bio type tanks.

Thats what I was thinking. Two tank on each side and these cylinders connecting the two as a swim through. That would be cool.
