what kind of coral is it? hard to tell from the pic. if its got any living polyps, its got a chance. but only if ur water is pristine.

Agreed the pics are blurry. Do you know what kind of coral it is? If you have good flow, and good water chemistry I have seen things come back to life. Try Iodine dipping it, use seachem reef dip on it, read the directions and follow them to the T. Lots of times it is a matter of some sort of bug that has made its home in the coral. This will eradicate that, and give the coral a disinfectant bath.
Good luck, it is always a challenge, but rewarding one when you can revive it.

it's a moon coral...and yes it does have some polyps that do still come out it's just on that one side. It looks like someone pick it up in that spot. And as far as my tank goes everything is right where it should be (check that) my salinity was alittle low but I fixed that already.

I know you said seachem reef dip...I have Tech-I from Kent Marine(Long acting iodine supplement for reef type marine aquariums) is this along the same line. Can I use this to do the dip.

looks to me like a bleached out goniopora minor (the small encrusting kind) but who knows.. can you get a better pic or find a pic on the internet that looks like your coral?

What you have is a supplement, I am talking about an actual dip that is used for coral, anenomes, clams, before placing an an established tank. You would be shocked at what is living in dead, or near dead corals. I would suggest getting this dip. It is also good for coral that are looking bad, and usually one dipping is all they need to perk them back up. IMO, it is worth its weight in gold.
I bought a coral from someone that had a wonderful reef tank.....looked great, all corals were plump, etc., came home and dipped it and tons of flatworms were in the coral. I sure was glad that I had dipped it prior to placing in my display tank. I always dip them, regardless of who I get them from, just to be safe.
Good luck with it.
