Can you add sand to existing tank?

Can you add sand to an existing tank? If so how? Will it Kill LS if it buries it? Has any one added sand to an existing tank if so let me know what you did. thanks

to keep your life, you should only add 1/4 inch at a time, and wait a couple of weeks b4 adding more, if you are using ls, jsut lwer it into the tank, and dump hte bag on hte botttom
if it is dry, soak it first, for a couple of days,then use a pvc pipe, to pur it in, to the botom, to help avoid huge dust storms, and ifit gets too bad, wait til it settles before continuing
