Is it completely wrong to use VHO's for SPS corals?
I've heard that they do just fine and other cases that they don't do very well.
Please help.

VHOs are at the low end of usefulness for SPS. Personally I LOVE the colors VHO provide, but for a full SPS reef it's just not enough energy.
If you want an SPS reef then anything other than MH is a compromise in my opinion.
