Can you see/tell the difference

Can you tell the difference with ro water and tap water? As far as who has started with tap water and switched to ro water, has there been a SIGNIFICANT change in fish corals anenomes etc...? And when you changed did you slowly add the new water or just as you normally would with a regular water change.

I ran a FOWLR tank for years with tap water and never had any problems. When I started keeping corals, I switched to RO water, adding it in on every water change. Honestly, I can't tell if there's been any real difference, particularly in terms of nuisance algae growth. However, it really depends on the quality of your tap water. From what I know, the tap water in my area is quite good.

I live in Portland, what LFS's do you go to? So far I am not thrilled by any of the stores I've visited.

If you do a bit of searching on the net, you should be able to find out just how good your tap water is. My city even recently sent out a water quality report in the mail.
