Candy Cane and Mushroom

Can I put a candy cane coral stalk in the sand next to a rock with mushrooms on it? The mushrooms would be maybe an inch or two under the head of the candy cane, but they would be right next to the base of the candy cane. Will one of these hurt the other?

They will be fine.

Candy Canes have very short stinger tentacles so as long as the mushroom don't get near the mouth or within an inch or 2 then they will be fine.

i used an epoxy putty to glue the candycanes stem to a rock, i think they look better when they seem to be growing out of the rock.
