I buy a candy cane coral. it has about 15 head. I want to ask where should I place it. My tank is 14g biocube tank. I want to place it on the top of a live rock. It's about 4 inches away from top of water. Is that OK? Thank you.

Ok, someone correct me if I am wrong here.
I read somewhere that you should put it towards the bottom of your tank and gradually bring it up to its permanent place as it may not like too much lighting.
I have heard both sides of the sword on water flow. They dont like high flow and they dont like low. Mine didnt seem to like the high flow but I also read somewhere that they grow quicker in high flow, so I could not help you there.
I started mine at the top and it didnt act right (shriveled up) I moved it to the bottom and now after several days it actually looks like some of the heads are still alive. So bottom might be better (anyone?)

I also had a candy cane in a 14G BioCube. I started with it in the lower half of the tank and then moved it to be about 2/3 of the way up, probably about where you want to put it. It did fine in both locations. When I moved it to my 40G, I placed it even closer to the lighting and it did very, very poorly. They don't like high lighting. If you have the stock PC's in your BioCube, you can place it anywhere, but if you've upgraded the lighting, leave it towards the bottom half of the tank.

I don't upgraded my light.
When you put it in in your 14g tank, how did you set your light? How long for the white light per day?

I placed it in the middle with the just the actinic light on. It got added at night. I almost always add my corals at night, they acclimate better that way.
My lights were on for 12 hours total. 10 hours daylight (white light) w/ actinic (blue light), and then an hour each morning and night with just the actinic.
I'm actually in the process of setting up my 14G again. We got a pistol shrimp as a hitchhiker, so I'm going to make it a pistol shrimp/goby mini reef. It's a great little tank.

They don't come out that far and they're transparent and if it's acclimating you probably won't see them at all.
