you can keep trying that, or you can use superglue, the gel kind works best but the regular will work, or an epoxy for fragging coral

I use the regular old super glue GEL. I get a 3 pack from the dollar store and it lasts me a long time. Don't waste your money on "Coral Glue" from your LFS, no need.

you can use those.. or if you don't mind it in the sand, they like it there. They love being fed often too.

Do they like low or high light? Mines up top of my tank.
I fed it a bit of Mysis and it seemed to like them. My GF said she saw sweepers come out in the dark just before she turned the lights on in the morn. Unfortunatly I did not get to see them. Does that mean that it wants food?

They usually put their tentacles out during the night like most coral. You can get them to come out during the day if you feed a small amount and then come back in a few minutes to finish feeding.
They're not as light-needy as most coral. Although, there are a few different types of candycanes and I'm not positive that all can be considered "low-light". There are this really neon green colored candycanes and I'm not sure at all what got them so dang neon...but I'd suspect that a lot of light did it.

Mine are super neon greenish yellow.
I will move them lover, Thanks Speg
PS. How come sweepers at night? is that normal coral feeding time, at night?

a lot of coral seem to extend tentacles at night.
If your candycanes are doing well at a higher level then no need to move them. If you look at my nano cube you can see mine in the sand...huge polyps...
you're welcome lover.

Ok how do glue them with superglue? Pull it out of water put the glue on the candycane wait a minute or so then put back in water and attach to rock......
I was worried about putting it in the sand and ir getting enough light. I have a 54 gal corner tank and it is deep 21in. I do have a 250w halide on it? It is funny, in the decription on swf it says nothing about feeding.

That's a good amount of light. It should do fine in the sand...trust me...feed it....tentacles = feed.

If you want to glue it though........
You'll need to take the rock you want it on and the frag itself OUT of the water and use a towel to dry the frag/rock. Then apply glue and let it settle for about 20-30 seconds and you can re-add it into the tank.

I have never fed my candycane which is growing healthy and beautiful.
It throws out speaders at night so I assume it feeds itself throuh the water column.
Is it a necessity to feed?
What are mysis?
Thanks

Well if yours are doing good then it's probably getting enough food elsewhere. Maybe from pods during the night or maybe from your lighting.
Mysis are little shrimp. Fish/coral gobble them up!

Where do you get mysis? Would like to try.
Never had to feed sophisticated corals in my 6 years 90 gal plus 55 gal swf/lr/ls experience.
Thanks

Most fish stores, petstores, off and online, carry a selection of frozen foods including mysis, brine, scallops, algaes, etc. You can get multi packs with different foods in them also. Then you can mix it up and see what is liked by your particular critters.
