Canister Filters & Power Outages?

Once you prime and start a canister filter will it restart without repriming after a power outage?

Yes, just as long as the siphon is not interupted. I have 3 fluvals, 2 in my 55 fresh and one in my 30 gal reef. I unplug them everyday when I feed with no problems.

You can avoid the entire issue if you purchase a backup power supply, such as an APC BackUPS. They keep your tank necessities running during power outages, such as your heater and your pumps. With as much as we spend on our tanks, it is not that much, comparatively.
