well, my parents are having problems w/ there 46gal tank...they just bought a marinelife c-360(rated up 2 100gal) to clear up their green water problem...do u think this will help?

It will help if they keep up with the carbon changes and use a carbon that does not leach phosphate. If they did not have a skimmer I would have rather invested the money in one.

First remove whatever caused the tank to go green..re:Macro algae
I never heard of carbon causing phosphates. Just use activated carbon to remove any toxins and polish the water. Do a water change once every other day and it should clear up.

Im with Geo may need a skimmer
and if there's alot of toxin in the tank it will expend your carbon quickly keep it changed often
