Cannister wet/dry

Hi
I have a 75 gal reef tank with a skimmer and chiller.
I am thinking of adding a wet/dry cannister. Do they work well in a reff tank.
I would really like to hear all pros/cons

They eventually become waste traps and will slowly leech nitrate and phosphate into your tank. They're great for fish only, but not recomended for a reef. If you need more filtration, you can look into adding a DSB or possibly upgrading your skimmer (if it's not doing enough).

You may not need it if you go a low feed reef. Yet it will increase the bio-filter. If you do get one, put a sponge filter on the intake and clean it when it gets some build-up. Just because the wet/dry canister is advertised as a mechanical filter dose not mean you have to use it as one…
