Canon A300 or FujiA303?

I have never had a digitital camera, so any help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. I have narrowed it down to a Canon A300 or the FujiA303. Does anyone have any opinions on either of these cameras? Thanks

check out dpreview.com . . . I am curious as well as I too am considering the A300.

I have the Fuji A303 and have been very happy with it. I took it with me to the backwoods of Peru this summer for 3 months and it came out working fine. 2 AA batteries last a long time w/o flash, it's small and light, and takes great pictures.
