I have a simple question that need to ask to buyers of this camera. My camera came in today. I ordered from Dell. It wasn't factory sealed and some smudges on the LCD screen. It makes me wonder if it has been used and returned. So I want to know when you bought this camera if yours was sealed somehow, ie - by tape or wraped.

usually they are just in like a sleeve thats folded over with a piece of tape. the smudge could be from someone in the factory just putting it in the box and held it from the LCD

Hmm...
It's been too long since I purchased my Rebel to remember.
I would be very suspicious though if the lcd screen didn't have one of those transparant plastic sticky covers on it.

i dont recall my XT or my 30D ever had that little thing on the LCD.
Put in a CF card..take a pic. put it in your PC and see what the pic name is. if it comes up with IMG_001 then thats the first image the camera has taken. So its new
Well make sure its a formatted card or a new one. if you put a card in with the same numbering fromat the camera will continue where it left off and you will get confused.

It was just a box, no sleave nothing. There was no protective sleave on the LCD screen. I beeter exchange it.

I'm a photographer, and if I had ever purchased a camera and it came with smudge prints on it...etc. - I would either have it returned or a FAT discount better be offered. - Who's to know if it was dropped/sensor touched..etc
I'd chew there ass if I were you.

man reefstar..seem to get to bent out of shape over a smudge. Use the camera. check it out, if all is fine then dont worry about it. Would you ever feel comfortable buying used gear?
I spent a grand on a used lens before and I never even gave it a thought. just cause it was touched doesnt mean there is anything wrong with it.

Disagree with this, if you pay for new, you should have certain expectations....I got the exact same camara last week, I have no doubt I am the 1st to take it out of the box....Not sealed, but was protected.
