canon g3 or g5

i am looking in to gettin a new digi cam in the next month or so and i really like the cannon g3 and g5. anyone have expierence with both of these? should i spend the extra money for the g5 or is the g3 just as good if not better?

Not entirely sure but i think one has a higher pixel count than the other. Making for sharper pictures.... I'm sure others know WAY more than me.

from what i have found on the netthe g3 is 4 megapixels and g5 is 5 megpixels and the g5 has a little more zoom i think, but would that make it worth paying about $100 more?

I am still learning how to use the G5, but here is the link that Ryebread gave for me to look at before I purchased it. I really like this camera.

I have the Cannon G2 (last year, they grow up so fast) and love it. My normal everday pics are great. I am still experimenting
with the macro mode (I am a die hard 35mm fan) so these are new to me. But, if the diff is $100 and you are getting more pix and a little more zoom, (mine is 11.5 I think) and you can swing it, I say go for it.

congrats....I love mine. G2 that is. I just got our consumer reports today and they got great write ups. I am still learning about mine. It seems that when picture time comes its get the pic and go. Kids, vacations, bday, etc. So I have really been trying different things. The best thing is you delete and try again.
