Canopy wood splitting from inside.

My canopy is splitting from the bottom horizontally from saltwater and heat... It doesn't look that bad but I can see it only getting worse.
Should I be concerned? It shouldn't destroy my whole canopy and the set up right?

Lighting where the damage is occurring? Can you rebuilt that section?

Yeah the moisture is taking it's toll on the canopy and yes it will continue to flake away and split.....It's possible the canopy was never sealed....Any pics of the damage?

when i had my 150 gallon it had a canopy.it warped like crazy.the seams split and spread.no more canopies for me .too much moisture up there for wood.

Depending how bad it is, it can be fixed......The edges need to be sealed a lot.....That is where the moisture will enter the easiest.
