type of tank, live corals? size and how old is the set up. Many things go in to fish selection. Even the type of filter can cause you to put small fish in vs: large due to the cycle gph. I need more.

I wouldn't go with the angler lionfish because you can't get a large lionfish in a 37 gallon tank so you would need a dwarf one and the angler may eat him, and a angler and a frogfish are basically the same thing so that eliminates that one. I don't know anyone with a scorpionfish so that eliminates that one. Seahorse one may be boring to watch, but I really do't know. How about you get a dwarf lion and some other aggresive fish. (sorry for mixing up your "sets") but I think a lion (which I think you really like because its in 3 sets) would be better off with something else.
-This is F1shman by the way

seahorses are beautiful - I suggest you go to www.seahorse.org and look at the combinations the folks over there have - it is an absolute WEALTH of info and everyone is so incredibly helpful...it's like being here!!
As for the lions... if u go with one, I'd definitly say a dwarf...but some of those can get to 7 or 8 inches...so u might be pushing it with a 37...
I know nothing about anglers/frogfish except that they look really cool -
I think you need to decide wether you'd like this to be aggressive or not, and start from there.
With an aggressive tank u'd only be able to have 1 or 2 fish at the most... a 37 isn't much room for those of the predatory persuasion - but if you REALLY LOVED that 1 or 2 fish, then that would work quite well.
If you'd like more to look at, then go reef with community fish - gobies and firefish etc.
Hope this was somewhat helpful... let us know what you decided!

thanx mimzy! I had found that .org while i was searching. The problem is i cant decide i had read somewhere on here that seahorses could live in a community fowler. If that is so i would just go with parts of my 1st 2 sets.

Nah. They really need to be in a species only tank with really really other calm fish. They are very unaggresive feeders and anything that eats aggresivly will steal all of their food.

Yup, that's right F1sh, aka kickdoff2 - ha ha, u can't hide from me

Seahorses can't be in a tank with anything other than seahorses or pipefish (which are in the same family).
Seahorses are very fragile and can only eat what floats by them - so if there's anything else feeding in that tank, the horses will starve.
They also need much lower flow than fish tanks...along with a great many other things...they aren't the easiest creatures to keep. They need numerous daily feedings and a constant supply of LIVE food - meaning uve got to have tanks up with mature water for keeping their food alive and breeding that and feeding that....
It's pretty involved, but truly rewarding if you're into it.

Jawfish and firefish are both awesome, my friend... jawfish need a high substrate, but otherwise, pretty hardy fish, colorful, tons of personality...
I would go with that grouping if I were throwing a tank together...

I'd go with the 1st group.
Lots to look at, fast paced living, and varied personalities. :joy:
Seahorses ya gotta have lots of time... and LOTS of money... just the horses themselves are MAD expensive.
I wouldn't suggest them for anyone other than those nutty enough to be ga-ga head over heels obsessed with em
So much more color in the first group, too - but this is just my 2cents...
let us know!!

ok here is my plan i will keep the first group. :cheer: But theres more, attached to the 5 1/2 gallon sump i will attach a 10 gallon tank for a pipefish so i get a i know what im getting into (because i heard they were easier) then when and I get enough expierience i will add another 10 gallon and probably add some pixy seahorses)
