Can't get my condy to move.

We are trying to remove our condylactis for fear it will eventually harm our BTA. Last night we tried:
1. Gently tugging.
2. Blowing on it with powerhead.
3. Rubbing ice cube on its foot.
NOTHING! No luck at all. Does anyone have any advice? We want to remove it as humanely as possible... it was the first thing in our saltwater tank and we have compassion for it but it just can't stay. We'd like to safely rehome it.

How is it footed? What is it footed on? Can you move the BTA and maybe the condy will move to find it again? If you put a power head on it make sure its blowing very very hard at it. Other wise they enjoy moderate flow.

Thanks PD - It's rooted itself very deep inside a hole I'm afraid :( It's snuggled its way into a nook in one of our rocks. We can't even get to it's base.

That's a tough one. They're almost impossible to remove if they get their foot in a hole because you can't get to it. Best suggestion I have is to make conditions for it bad. Meaning place another rock on top to cut off its light. This might make it move to another brighter spot. Then when it starts moving, you might be able to get to its foot easier.

How long did you try the powerhead? It will take more then a few hours for it to decide to move after realizing there is too much flow in one area. Position the powerhead to hit it with flow and allow the anemone a day or maybe even a few days to move.

Think we could just stick a cup on top of it? Or something? I can't think of any way we can configure our rocks to make it more shady. It's definitely picked the ideal spot in the tank, lol.
It's my condy, so I told my boyfriend that if we absolutely have to... we can just tear it off... :'( It makes me cringe but we are very concerned about his BTA. It's very stressed.

Yeah. It's gotta be about 3.5-4 lbs.
Is it easy to get out ot the tank though? If so can you use a chisel or

driver to break off part of the rock that it is on. Of course you would have to ensure the rock is still under water in a separate tub.

Oh - OK. We will just try positioning the powerhead to point at it for a day or so and see if it moves.
We have our tank in two arcs - if you look at my profile there should be a pic of it there when we just started. It has positioned itself on the rock in the middle that is actually holding the two arcs up =/ So not, not easily removable, and even if it were, it's settled in such a hole that it would be rough to chisel it out.

Gottcha. Hope the flow thing works out for you and your critter. I like that you want to find it a new home! Good stuff!

It does have sentimental value to us :( Especially me.
But I'm afraid we're running out of time. The BTA is not looking so good.
