can't get my ph probe calibrated correctly

My ph meter is reading 7.60 so I put myself into shock. I ran down to the LFS and tested the water on their probe and it read 8.04. I purchased 7.01 and 10.01 calibration fluid and calibrated the meter again. My reading is now showing 7.64.
What should I do??? Why is the instrument not reading correctly?? The probe should not be bad it is only 4 months old and it was purchased brand new

The question is does your probe calibrate correctly at the 7 and 10 liquids? Also is this fresh solution? Believe it or not it does have an expiration date. The temp might have an effect on the pH as well. One other question is the pH probe at the lfs, when is the last time they calibrated their probe and can they gurantee that it is accurate?

I have a pinpoint probe and i was using a fresh packed of solution. I did pay attention to the temp listing on the packet.
I have one of the few reliable LFS. He has helped me out so much and yes I would think his probe is accurate.
If i made my probe read the same as his read that would be a mistake? because it wouldn't continue to read accuratly? I am just guessing

Are you using the AC adapter? Any possible electrical interference? I doubt this is your problem because it would make the meter jump all around but its something to rule out.

if/when you place Your probe into the cal fluid it reads 7 in the 7 and 10 in the 10 there is nothing wrong with your probe.
