i have a freshwater tank right now, but i was curious why every time i change the carbon filter the tank becomes knida cloudy. i rinse it off like i'm suppose to and it always clears up after a couple of days. but why is it cloudy at first?

It is cloudy when you first put the carbon in? What kind of filter are you using and do you rinse it untill it runs clear? I have many FW tanks and havn't had that problem.

it clouds up right when you pull the pads out right.
if so its build up behind the pad that when you pull it out is going back into the water. you will need to take the filter completely off the tank and rinse it out good and clean it up on your next pad change to remedy it.

Oh, when he pulls the pads OUT? ok, I was thinking when he puts them in. Mine get slightly cloudy for like an hour or two then clear right up, but I clean the inside chamber all of the time.
