Carbon Filter

I have just started a 55 gal tank (fish only). I have a wet/dry filter. Do these normally have a carbon filter too?

Carbon in this case is normally put into a micron bag and placed in the sump, preferably in a high flow area. some will place it in canister filters to get a more aggresive flow through the carbon.
