What is the benefit of using carbon in my wet/dry? Where in the sump would I put it? I assume in one of the media trays??
Thanks in advance

Carbon adds to your filtration, and has one of the better, if not the best, buffering qualities of all media. I run carbon for one day twice a month.
If you were to run carbon in a wet dry it would go in to one of the media trays. If you dont have media trays you can always use a media bag and place it where flow will go from one compartment in the sump to another compartment.

so if I understand......you place the carbon in one of your media trays for one day, two times a month? Why would you not just leave it in?

Actually, in your case I would use carbon until it needs to be replaced....about 10-14 days between changes.
Make sure you rinse the carbon thoroughly before use.

Can carbon hurt your filtration in anyway? I have a wet dry with media trays and I am debating getting some carbon.
I have a small breakout of red slime agae and wondering if this will help at all, or provide an other benefits.
