CARBON OR RENEW ??????????

I have a 100 gal saltwater reef. I just got a product from Seachem called " Renew ". It's a carbon replacement. I also have some Seachem Sea Gel Carbon that I also would like to use. Am I able to use these products together and how well does the Renew product work? Would they work well together or not? Also, is it ok to stir up my gravel on the bottom of the aquarium or should I just let it go? I thought about stirring it up to brighten it up a little because of it being brown. What will it hurt if I do stir it up? I would stir it up right before I do a water change. Is this a good idea or not?Could it hurt the tanks chemistry at all?Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I do not recommend the use of non-alkalinity or calcium enhancing chemicals in a reef tank.

I would think you should vacun the gravel as part of the water change

if you have a light sand on your tank, do not stir it up. If it is brown.. as in it is dirty, you need some sand sifting creatures, like a starfish, and DEFF! a couple cucumbers to ingest and clean the sand.
