There are 2 types of mandarins, the "normal" and the "green" (for lack of a better description. Is one easier to keep then the other?
Also I've asked this before but is one --- easier to keep then the other, I've heard the males are... (I'm asking again becuase no one was sure last time...)
Thanks, Mike

any mandarin (regular vs. green target), scooter blenny, dragonet, etc should, IMO never be placed in a tank less than 6 months old, and will have an even better chance f sruvival in a tnak that is a year or older, mainly because they have such a specialized feeidng diet. they will constantly pick at pods, bugs, etc in the tank. as far as sexing them...ive never heard that one --- is easier to keep than the othert this....anyhow, they are not for novice fishkeepers...but they can be trained to eat forzen foods, such as bloodworms and brine shrimp. we have several at our shop that feed on frozen stuff so it can be done
anyhow!
good luck

jon,my scooter now agressivly chases frozen brine with the other fish.I have never seen anything like it.He swims up to the surface and pushes other fish out of the way to get to the stuff.I guess he remembers he was the first addition I made to the tank!
