carpet anemone

i was in my lfs today and they had a carpet anemone for sale. the only thing is i hav never seen one like this, it had the short tentecles , buut they were thicker than the normal green carpets, can anyone help identify this please. the kid in there was no help either. it had a very faint green color to it . thanx

I can't really make an ID like that. Can you get a pic? Could just be a green carpet, or look up sebae anemones for some pics to compare.

Hi - okay on carpet anemones - if it was a faint green "mottled" color. This was it's natural color and not becuase it was loosing its zooanthelle I hope. Anyway best guess would be Stichodactyla haddoni. I believe is a fairly common carpet in LFS. Check out Wilkerson's book Clownfishes. It has good anemone information. For us to really ID your anemone over the net you need to give more information. Color of underside of anemone, oral disc color - size - and are the tentacles all same color - do they thin out towards the oral disc ?
