Sebaes only need moderate lighting. I kept one for many yers under 1 40w full spectrum and a 40w actinic. The only con is they seldom stay where you realy want them to. Sebae

I wouldn't suggest getting a Haddoni, well if you are a novice anem keeper. I would get a Quadricolor (BTA) to start of with or a Crispa (sebae).

I was looking at maybe getting a Blue or one of those Electric Greens...I have kept Condi's for a while...A carpet would just look better in my reef when I get done with it I think..

Meet Chi, Martyr, and Anemosis....
My carpet WONT stop growing im about to slice his foot so he will split. He has stayed where I want him so I havent had that problem. He will only eat Calamari, for some reason he regurgitates Krill and Silversides. I have him in with a Bubble tip for my Maroon. No Problems. Just make sure you dont get a Hadoni they will not allow anything to host and will kill anything that passes by. Bad thing is CA's are Venemous so you have to watch your hand , although my wife doesnt have any problems touching him, she rubs his little tentecals like shes messaging it. Im a wuss, I dont mind touching my BTA it doesnt seem to pack a sting at all. I asked my wife what it feels like (the carpet) she said velcro.

Carpet anemones can be very frustrating......there are several species; but, the two most commonly seen are S. haddoni and S. gigantea. The haddonis are the the easier of the two to keep.....but, still require high water quality and intense light. Your 250 HQI may be OK if your tank is not too tall and the carpet is right under the bulb. One problem with all carpets is that they don't ship well. They can look great for weeks....then suddenly melt down. Supposedly, they are very suseptible to bacterial infections during shipping that can take weeks to do them in. If you can get the carpet through the first two months, it will be very hardy for you......it's obtaining a healthy specimen and getting him through the first couple of months that is the challenge......and remember, all carpets are fish eaters and will snack on its tankmates if the opportunity arises. Here's my green gigantea.....

I have a CA just like yours. I have a question, Dont want to steel the thred, just thought it might help others. He is big and now is getting areas on his upside that are missing tenticals. Some of his tenticals are getting bigger around not longer. Is something wrong with him? He still eats just fine and moves around. I thought he might be spliting but now I am worried
