hi would a catalina goby be able to survive in a small nano or pico reef tank
i know that catalinas need cooler temperatures but is there a common thread temperature where the goby and the corals could live together
i was thinking just some basic low light corals, zoos, shrooms, xenia, maybe frogspawn?
thanks

this is what i found so far.. is it true?
Very striking when kept in small schools, the small Catalina Gobies will dart in and out of the rockwork and perch on their favorite lookout in the reef aquarium. It is not usually an aggressive fish, but may quarrel with conspecifics if housed together in a small tank. An aquarium of 10 gallons or larger is usually suitable.
Although it will tolerate a tropical water temperature, (76 to 78ºF), the Catalina Goby prefers the cooler temperatures associated with the island where found, Catalina Island, off the coast of Los Angeles, California. Temperatures there range from 60 to 72ºF

yeah that pretty much covers it. its gonna be happier at lower temps but can survive in higher temps you hit 80 deg and he's gonna be carpet sufring to get out of that tank, or hitching a ride on the porcelin express. I foyu set your reef to not exceed 78 deg you might be ok. ( a little on the cool side for corals but you may be able to pull it off.)

72 degrees for most corals availible for the aquarium trade is really low.
also, in the information you posted yourself it claims that they need cooer temps than 72-78. It said they could survive. but allyssa was right when she said that they wont live very long.
steavewest has an amazing coldwater tank. search for it on this forum and itll give you some ideas.

+I myself wouldnt do it. the whole Idea is to replicate the natural environment of the animals your keeping. I would not speak for the fishes longevity in a situation that he is not adapted to.
