catching fish??????

How is the best way to catch fish to put them in a HT. My tank has ick. This time I set up a HT and started catching my fish. The clown was the only one i could catch, So I moved my LR(about 20 LBS.) to the HT and I am going to Hypo My show tank. So for future reference what is the easiest way to catch the fish after I add more LR and have no room for them in a smaller tank? Will I have to remove all the LR so they have no place to hide? Thanks

put the net in the tank feed the fish and as they go up to get the food catch them. the easiest way is being quick and patient

2 nets... put a piece of food (preferably meaty food, like scalop or shrimp) in one net, when the fish swimps into the net to eat, bring the second net in right behind him. That what works best for me at least.

Depends on the fish!! I had to feed the tank for a week w/nets in it for my tangs. One clown immediately after the main lights went out (still dumbfounded by the light change). One clown only at 3:00am when he was sleeping! They can get smart real fast! My hippo is impossible! To shy ! Sometimes if you move real slow it doesn't seem as much as a threat also....remaining clown just stupid I guess.

you should know a couple of fish that I know of should not be caught w/net..the puffers and boxfish there is probably more,those 2 should not be taken out of the water or they might breath in air which they may not blow back out..to catch them I use what you see at your lfs which the use to put the fishes in after they net them( little plastic container)you put that in the water and try to trap the fish in going in it w/net or hand..sounds hard but just be patient..HTH

I just caught my yellow tail blue damsel today. Man, I was so proud I got him . That was one fast swimmer. And guess what I used my hand and one net . It works!

This may seem like more work, but when I had trouble catching fish I moved the LR to one side of the tank then chased the fish to the other side witch has no rocks for them to hide in, (if you can chase them out), And use two nets
