Caulerpa in breeder net?

I am unable to put a sump/refugium/overflow on my tank and i have some minor hair algae problems. Could i place a bunch of caulerpa in a breeder net until the algae is under control then throw it away?

ive seen these things called "in tank fuges" made by CPR. basically they are a small box that goes inside your tank w/ holes in the box. it comes w/ a pump on one side and u put the plants in it and it works as a fuge i guess. pretty cheap. do a google search or hit up eaby for a cpr in tank fuge
