I use a 30w Flourescent bulb and my razor algae grows like mad. I have a 20 gallon long refugium using a sand substrate. ;)

well after a weekend of leaving it alone. my total of 20 watts of incan. seem to have made my algae grow. Im sure brighter light would make it grow faster. BUT then I would just have to harvest it more. But the macro seems very healthy and green. my water level dropped while I was gone and a teenie tiny piece was above water and it was a nice pink color. so I guess the light i have is good enough. plus its not so bright that it causes my filter media to produce any nitrates. hasnt seemed to come up since addin the lights and caulpera. and it has gone down some to. might have to get a new test kit to check for super low level's now. :p
BTW toddius where in texas are you? Im in austin. but drive to every where in the state at least once a month. I would love to see your tanks. or should I say fish tank with roof. :D :D :D

YOu want to have harvest the Macro as much as possible that means it's using up the nutriants in your tank.
The faster the growth the better.

Every time it needs it. Hasnt overgrown much. Still growing from the cuttings it started out as. but its growing fast. Hopefully this is enough light.
