CB Radio with PA Through stereo?

I recently purchased and am now the proud owner of a 1973 International Scout II. I used to have one years ago that my wife and I restored, but had to sell when we moved to Southern Cali.
Since selling our first scout, we've reguarly been browsing craigslist for a suitable scout 2 (no pun intended). When we came across this rig, we had to do it.
So the first thing I do is take the top off - it's awesome! I'm in the process of restoring it and am currently saving for a new paint job.
But in the meantime, I've purchased little things for it, like an alarm system, touch up paint, oil, and a few other <$100 items. I live in the country and this thing is already lifted with 33" tires so I figured "Why not get a CB Radio."
But how cool would it be if that CB radio was wired to a PA Speaker? And how much cooler would it be if I could run stereo music through the PA using the CB.
SO - does anyone here know how to do this? Is it even possible? What combination of equipment am I looking for? What brand of CB is the best?
Thanks,
Nick

I have no idea about CB stuff, but any decent headunit has an auxiliary-in, which I imagine you could run the CB to. Then wire the HU to the PA, either powered from the HU, or an external amp if the PA(s) need more juice. Then when you want to have the CB go to the radio, all you have to do is just flip the stereo from the tuner, to Aux1 or whatever. A PA is really no different then other types of speakers though the ohms might be off. Probably suggest stopping by a car audio shop and talk to someone there. Out there in the sticks, chances are they've hooked one up to other truck before. If they don't want to help and just try to get you to buy stuff, walk out.
About the PA though, if you like it, cool. Just remember what you like/find funny, others most likely won't. Pretty easy to get a noise ticket anymore. I know if someone was hassling me with a PA, I won't be long before I tee-d the darn thing off the rollbar....

Breaker, breaker one - niner! Does anyone even use CB's any longer? I guess the trucker's still use them to talk to each other. The CB was my 'cell phone' back in high school. Everybody had one, and that was the way you found your buddies on a Friday or Saturday night. My handle was Bionic Armadillo (hence my nickname here, bionicarm). I used to watch The Six Million Dollar Man, and raced armadillo's at the Chili Cookoffs we used to compete in.
AquaKnight explained exactly what you need to pull off your PA setup. Not sure what the motivation is being doing it though. I know in some states it's illegal to have something like that in your car. People could use it to make other driver's think they were cops (directing people to pull over, etc.)

With the right speakers who needs a PA?
Like Bionic I grew up in the era of CB's in every car. We took the playing cop thing a step further. You get one of those hand held spot lights which a red plastic lid from a can of rally car wax fit over perfectly. You flip that thing on at night and pull in behind someone and hit the PA. I am surprised none of us got shot for that gag.

A decent CB headunit will have a amplified mono 1/8 jack that will run a PA. Then it is just off to radioshack to pick up their little PA speaker for 20 bucks. Getting a 1/8 jack and wire then running it.

Well this whole thing started when I was looking for a horn for my scout. Then I found this cool horn that does ice cream truck-style music and stuff! It had a mic attachment so you could use it for PA purposes as well. Then I figured I could wire my music into it so I could have the james bond theme blast when I was pulling into a parking lot to meet friends or something. Again, nothing I'd actually use, just gag-reel type stuff. How hilarious would it be to drive up and have that midi-sounding ice cream truck music playing? I could see it being a hit with all the rednecks I rub elbows with.... haha

First off there are no red knecks in Kalifornia. If you're trying to get your CB, your radio, and one of those PA things with sound effects, I'd consider running 2 things, one for your sound effects (and if it has an input your CB) then another for your radio...

Congrats on the Scout II, I drove one for many miles and wish I still had it. The only downside with them is they are terrible to drive in traffic with a 4-speed.
