So I bought a clean up crew from this site and it comes with a CBS. I don't know any better so into the tank he goes with the rest of the crew (this is ~4 months ago). Now I have a cleaner shrimp that's actively cleaning averyone and is always out and about in the tank. The CBS is doing his best to make a snack out of the Cleaner. So far so good, the cleaners been lucky. Is there any way of catching the CBS short of taking the tank apart? I will if I have to but I'd really rather not. I have a nice pot of boiling water waiting for the CBS, I'll show him what a snack really is! J/K I'll probably just throw him in the fuge if I can catch him.
Thanks for any help

You can try to catch him with your hands. but It does have large pinchers.Hey .. I'd rather get pinched buy it then tear down the tank.Try feeding it and then catching it with your hands. or a net.

He's afraid of the net. As soon as it touches the water, he's gone. I even tried leaving it in there for a couple of hours with out moving it. no good. The cleaner eats out of my hand no problem, but the CBS never coms near me. I just gotta keep trying I guess, I really don't want to take the tank apart but if he gets the cleaner I may really dump him in the pot!

are you spot feeding the CBS from a feeding stick? This makes mine peaceful with all the other inhabitents. Mine used to try to crawl up the wall after my clown. Now every other day or so i give him a little piece of shrimp or silverside, plus he walks around and hunts for amphiopods, now he is content and doesnt go for anyone.

Ive had a CBS and a cleaner together for about a month. Once in a while the CBS will get agressive, but its far too slow to catch the cleaner shrimp. The cleaner did manage to get a few of its antenae cut short, but they grew back the next time it molted. FYI, they're in a 46 gal.

Yes, I do give him a piece a Mysis avery couple of days, when he'll take it. He hasn't caught the cleaner yet but man does he come close.

Yeah right! After 3 of my cleaners disappeared, and with the last cleaner-I unfortunately caught the CBS in the act. Needless to say the CBS is long gone. I will never have a CBS with a cleaner or most other shrimp again-IMHO.

CBS WILL eat other shrimp. I hand feed my shrimp, so if I need to get him out, I'd just hand him a piece of shrimp, and have the net come from behind, but I'd never get rid of him, unless he bothered my serpent star, which he hasn't.
