cc mixed with sand

Why is it so bad to mix CC with live sand? I have about 10# CC mixed in with about 40# sand. Is this not good? I have had no problems yet, but my tank has been up for only 2 mos.

The sand will trickle down, leaving the cc on top to continue acting like a nitrate magnet. It will begin to look nasty at some point, all the while trapping detrious and junk. I'd get it out a little at a time. Just my take on it.

Thanks saltyrich, I appreciate it (your advice, but not your choice of a football team).
You are right, you guys look good this year. BUT, somehow the underdog (and visitor) always seems to get the upper hand. Remember last year how we were the heavily favored ones? It's time for PAYBACK!!
