center brace cracked up weird

i went down to look at my tank this morning and saw a 5 by 6 piece of glass on the bottom.
it is the center brace 3/8 glass 14 inches wide cracked into 5 pieces and the tank bowed just a little.
the tank is 3 yrs old weird that it would now seperate.
so i put 2 wood clamps on it to straighten it out.
do you think i should go and just get another glass piece and silicone it in?
is ther something stronger than silicone?
that is some weird stuff.

I have never had this happen to me THANK GOD! but I have read where it has to others...the tank is about to go, don't trust it.

the tank is fine.when i got it used i did a very thick resilicone job on it .made sure i had all the old stuff scraped off.
i have two heavy duty clamps on there now so it is straight.
i am thinking i have 3 250 watt mh lights and one is center above it a few inches off.
yesterday i turned the pump off for a few hours to add the 300 lbs of lr back in from it being in hypo.
i think when the mh heated up the center glass and then i turned on the pump,when the water raised up it shattered the piece.
i will replace it with 1/2 inch acrylic.
luckilly the tank is 3/4 glass so it barely bowed.
i was all happy the tank was finally back together and looking good.
