hey everyone. i have not visited this forum in a long time, but i have had my tank up and running for over a year now and boy have i learned a bunch. any way i have a question - while cleaning my tank today i found critters in the crushed coral that resemble centipedes but look soft and are like yellow and purple. some were and inch or so and some are small like maggot size. gross i know but that is what they reminded me of. is this bad or ok? all my livestock is healthy and tank seems fine but i found many of these critters while cleaning today and just need to know if my tank is in trouble. i tried to take some pics but of course digital cam. batteries were dead. any input will be appreciated. thanks.

What you probably have are bristle worms. These are beneficial and help in the processing of waste in the reef and substrate. You can find pics here by searching bristle worms to verify that they are the same as you saw.
