ceramic tiles

thinking of glueing some palys onto ceramic tile for easier fragging. ive done it before with xenia, but i could never get it to grow onto the smooth side, i always had to use the back. has anyone done this? will palys grow on the smooth side? i mean im sure i could find out just by doing it but id rather not waste my time if it can be avoided.

by the way i mean like ceramic tiles that you would use for a backsplash in your kitchen. totally smooth on the front. not the textured mosaic tiles.
