Chaeto in bakpak

Hi All,
I need some advice. I have a bakpak2 and was wondering if I could put a small amount of chaeto back there with some light to help with a small cyano problem I am having. I am doing all the things folks have discussed, but I thought adding some chaeto might help with the extra nutrients that are apparently in my tank. Do you think this will help? I am looking into making my 10 gallon tank into a fuge, but for some immediate help, I thought a handful of chaeto in the bakpak would be good as long as I have light on it.
Thoughts? Thanks in advance for your help.

I tried it in mine. I noticed ALOT of detritus type build up in it though. Anytime I messed with the chaeto, I stirred it all up.

tferrante, It helps. But you will want to get water movement throught it so that it does not build up deturus.

I assume that the water flow through the bakpak itself is not enough? How long before i would begin seeing some results? Always learning

yes, it is apparent that I need more flow in my tank. I am planning on adding a pair of Koralia 1's very soon. I think that will help. In addition, as I read, adding chaeto must have some benefits. I would think adding oxygen and removing excess nutrients would be helpful. Does anyone know any good reasons why I couldn't pu it directly in the tank? I have no tangs and a great spot in the back corner that gets plenty of light. Maybe just a handful will sit nicely there. I think keeping an eye on its growth and it may be beneficial.
Any opinions?

Thats where mine is now in my 15. It stays alot cleaner now and if it gets too big I rip some off and give it to my foxface in the 90.

Thanks for the quick responses. GrouperGenius, why did you add it to your tank? Just seeing if we have/had a common problem. Thanks.

It started out in my Bakpak2. when taking it out to clean it one day a couple strands came off and went into the display. I never fished it out and now it's the size of a baseball. I got it for the same reason. Cut down my Po4.
