Hey guys just curious on how you guys light your chaeto. I currently have it like this:
Display Tank Lights: 3PM - 11:15PM
Fuge Light: 11PM-2PM
Is that a good idea?

I keep my fuge light on 24/7
How can the chaeto grow with 3 hours of light?
Notice its on from 11 PM to 2 PM, not 11 PM to 2 AM so its on for 15 hours
That schedule sounds great unless of course you have some Caleurpa mixed in with the chaeto. If that is the case then I would suggest running the fuge light 24/7.

I run mine the same way as you do. But some people believe that leaving the fuge light on 24/7 will help prevent the Caleurpa from going sexual. Do some google searches on Caleurpa.

I did do some research before deciding to use Caleurpa for its better nitrate absorbtion than Chaeto..I always thought temperature was waht caused it to go sexual....

Right on, it is better than Chaeto in that sense. I am not a Caleurpa expert but I have read some threads on here that suggested running the fuge lights 24/7. It is a shame that the search function doesn't always work because I would dig them up for you.
