So tell me more about this stuff. Where does one buy this stuff? Is it easy or difficult to grow?

Chaeto is pretty easy to grow - it just needs light and water movement. If you don't harvest it occasionally it will reproduce with short strands that can clog lines. It can be bought on line at several places, including the

site. i don't think that swf.com has it. You may be able to score some on the classified forum of this site.

Needs a fuge or sump, good water flow and good light,, but very beneficial, will eat up your nitrates and proteins.

can you put it in the dt or does it have to go in the fuge or sump

ive got a nice clump in my display tank. I got it when it was the size of a fist. and split it in two and placed themon the back corners of my tank. they are both getting kinda big. I just ordered a fuge so ill be placing it all in there.
Helps keep the water clean. This stuff plus a few clams and youll never have a nitrate problem again unless you way overfeed

Some people have a small container with holes and stick it to the side of their display tank to grow their cheato. Makes for a great refuge for pods.

Mines in my sump/fuge below the tank and I got some from my lfs.
