I have a HOB refugium. The dimensions are 19"L x 4-1/2"W x 12"H. I have a 4 in sand bed. I have added chaeto's to battle the algae . The lamp I have sits on top of the refugium. It is a 24 watt, 19 inch long, and has a 7000 Kelvin rating. I scrapped all the algae off the sides of the tank, did a water change and sucked up the algae, and cleaned all of the equipment. I changed my stock refugium pump to a maxi jet 1200 to increase the water flow through the refugium. I started off with running the lights for 24 hours. 4 days later since I have not seen a improvement I changed the lights to a reverse schedule. Now here I am week and a half later, small cyno outbreak with a algae bloom and the cheato’s do not seem to be doing to well.
